Our Founders

Tammy Smith is the Director of Business Development at Lighthouse Hospice and Palliative Care in Aurora, Illinois. In her role with Lighthouse, she supports families by providing education on the process of accessing hospice benefits and the ways in which hospice and palliative care can improve the end-of-life experience. She coordinates with outside organizations within the community to help make sure that Lighthouse’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support programs are available to as many members of the community as possible, providing important support and care at a profoundly difficult time. She’s passionate about dispelling the fears of hospice care and spreading the word about the availability of these vital—yet not always well-understood—resources.
